Please help us preserve our unique restaurants and ensure the future of “Cruisin” at Chuck-A-Burger!

In its heyday, Chuck-A-Burger had eight drive-in diners in the St Louis area. They were well known for their quality food, wholesome environment, and friendly curb service. It was a favorite place for dining and cruising. Over the years the American lifestyle became more and more fast-paced. Fast food chains with minimized menus and drive-thru service became more appealing. Sadly, drive-in diners became obsolete relics and in 1973 all but one Chuck-A-Burger, located at 9025 St. Charles Rock Road, closed their doors.

In 2005, in an effort to regenerate our history, we opened a second Chuck-A-Burger in St Charles located near 370 and Elm. Since the opening, residential and business development in the 370 and Elm area has been slower than expected. And, unfortunately for us, the majority of the businesses that have been established are restaurants. Most of those restaurants are part of large national chains - the same chains that contributed to the demise of drive-in diners all across the USA.

As a small, family owned business, it is very difficult for Chuck-A-Burger to compete with the marketing powers of the restaurant chains that are all around us. So, we are asking you to please continue to visit us throughout the fall and winter months. Many of our customers do not realize that summer weekends and special events sales alone are not enough to keep us operating. Your continued (and frequent) patronage is crucial to the future of Chuck-A-Burger. Please don’t let history repeat itself.
